Failed payments

1 min read Updated April 2026

If your payment fails, your enrolment or purchase isn't completed. For class enrolments, the 30-minute spot reservation expires if payment isn't retried in time.

Common reasons for failure

  • Insufficient funds — not enough in your account, or card limit reached
  • Card declined — your card issuer declined the charge; contact your bank
  • Incorrect BECS details — wrong BSB or account number entered
  • BECS debit failure — funds were unavailable at the time Stripe attempted the debit (BECS debits occur a few business days after checkout)
  • Expired card — your card details are out of date
  • Checkout timeout — the 30-minute payment window expired

What to do

  1. Review the error message shown in checkout.
  2. Correct your payment details and try again.
  3. If your preferred method keeps failing, try switching to the other (BECS or card).
  4. If the class spot was released while you resolved the issue, you may need to rejoin the waitlist.

BECS timing note

BECS payment confirmation can take a few business days. If your bank account has insufficient funds at the time Stripe attempts the debit, the payment may fail after checkout appears successful. You'll receive an email notification if this happens — contact support promptly.
